I've seen one outside Sligo Renault for a while now - no idea of the price, though!

Apparently these cars can vary in quality, not in how they were looked after, but how they left the factory. Each individual example is supposedly different to drive to the other as a result.

Given the weight of the car, I dunno - is the 170bhp from the mk1 ST enough?

I've driven both and the RS is notably quicker for the extra 30Bhp.
Depends how much money you have to spend and performance you need.
Handling wise they are similar, both very good.

Mate recently paid €17,000 for a mint '03 RS, FSH on a car like this is a must when it comes to selling on.

Cheers, but not the kind of car i would buy at Auction, i take it that it was not sold at the auction on 02-DEC?

Yep. The turbo changes the entire nature of the power and torque delivery. The 2.0 ST needed a lot of gear changes to keep the revs up.

Handling wise I found them very different. That ATB active diff. on the RS is very intrusive. The ride is also extremely hard.

hi im selling my 03 focus rs if your intrested just pm or ring me in <SNIP> cheers jon,

    Genuine Irish Car.
By handling I was not implying comfort.
Ride in ST and RS is harsh.

Does the RS come with 5 doors? Or is it 3 doors only?

I never took much notice of them before, but this thread had me looking up photo's and its something I noticed.

3 door only, the mk1 RS only came in blue too.
Mk2 is available in a few different colours, blue, white, and green iirc.

hi i had a 03 focus rs earlier this year had 36k on it full ford service history and was mint inside outside and underneath..i let mine go at the time for
around 15k on irish plates, nct'd..
i wouldnt loose hope at all there a few for sale and some for sale a long time now too. dont be afraid to travel and drive more than one.
its defo worth getting yourself over to rsownersclub.co.uk, have a look on there forum they have a irish section and i think one was up on that recently too.also you'll get some tips and things too look for.
buying from the likes of those clubs you do tend to get a knowledgeable owner who has well looked after the car and good history

heres a link with some useful info...
