Major delays to trains out of Heuston this evening

I've been stuck on the 17.35 train from Heuston to Sallins for 90 minutes now and we still haven't moved past Hazelhatch. A signal failure being cited as the reason in the only communication from the driver in the 90 minutes.

For fcuks sake. Is it so bleeding hard to manage an alternate system of moving the trains if signals break down. Why can't they wIt for one train to clear a station andcthen clear the next train as far as that station andcthen let it proceed once the first train has reached the next station etc etc.

Jeez a 30 minute trip turns into a 90 minute and counting saga with fcuk all communication from the driver. Irish Rail incompetent a..holes.

You are entitled to a refund.

They've changed the signalling around Sallins over the last few weeks and something went wrong today.

Their website is saying there were no serious service delays today. Which is a blatant lie. Unless it only updates itself the next day.

I was on the 18:05 to Portlaoise, which left on time but arrived at 20:40, a full 86 minutes late.

That would not be "serious" by IE standards , sure it got there the day it left !

It takes a day or two for the delays to update on the website.

"We apologise for the delay in admitting the delay, we are delaying our apollogy unless the media give out this morning in which case we will send our PR bunnies along to talk complete crap on the radio about pretending we care. Meanwhile it is best to delay."

Meanwhile this PR bullsh1t bingo bunnyfest is the top item in their news section right now :(
The DART has a long association with poetry. Poets’ Corner has been in situ in DART trains and at stations for 23 years and has provided pleasure for the tens of thousands of commuters who travel by DART every day.
This competition was part of the DART 25 celebrations. Members of the public were invited to submit a poem about the DART or about any railway journey. Some 400 entries were received, in both English and Irish.

The poetry provides a valuable service, gives you something to read and pass the time on your delayed trains :pac:

    LOL

I guess it takes a day or two to load the statistics of every individual train delay.

I was supposed to get the 16.44 from Hazelhatch to Heuston yest evening so I sympathise. Had to stand there in the cold until 18.05 when it finally arrived. I'm over it now but have to say the lady at HH station was lovely and did her best to keep us informed even though they weren't telling her much and what they were telling her wasn't accurate
