No fear of me hearing a loop, my commute to work takes a whopping 9 minutes according to google maps :)

Mine home can be 2 hours! Even leaving in the morning at 6.30am it's taking 45 minutes now. Traffic has been mental.

Can See myself using the train again in the new year.

Is there any change of getting the RDS Time on the Dublin Transmitter changed to the correct time? It is about 45 minutes fast and causes the incorrect time to be displayed on the car clock when listening.

App on the phone keeps cutting out on me since Friday, plays for c.10 minutes & then jut stops & needs a restart. Very frustrating.

FM on the car has been fine and I'm using Tunein for the app also working fine.

I have noticed there was three stages over the weekend where there was no DJs at all, over 30mins of playtime each time and no DJs interaction which I thought was strange.

Any Tesla owners here? Seems Christmas FM isn't available on our version of TuneIN and signal quality on FM is a bit hit and miss around County Limerick

Playing one good tune after another today, wonder if it's because of the toy show tonight.

I have tapped out on Christmas fm. Too many channel changers for me. I loved it in the beginning but the repetition is too much. Have stuck with Spotify this year.

Signal was lost at edgeworthstown yesterday as I travelled west, last year I got as far as strokestown before losing it.

Picked It up again near Limerick and pretty much had it all the way home. Truth be told was a bit bored with it by the time I got home, not a great mix of songs on the journey.

No signal again in south East (Wexford ) since Friday night , maybe due to storm.

I heard the distinctive South African accent of Jennie Ridyard this evening. It is always enjoyable listening to her voice. Off topic but… her husband John Connolly presents a wonderful program on Saturdays on RTE Gold called ABC to XTC!

I was just looking at Christmas FM's programme schedule to see if there were any new presenters to the station this year, or at least new as far as I know. The following are names that I don't think were there previously.

Louise Tighe from last Monday, who most recently was with FM104.

Jane McNamara who was down as a co-presenter this evening.

Paul Kennedy for next Saturday, who I am guessing is the Louth man who presents on Northern Ireland's Cool FM and Downtown Radio.

Rob G for next Sunday, who presents on East Coast FM and FM104. He confirmed this is his first year.

Al Dunne for next Sunday, who presents on RTE Gold.

It should also be noted that Avril Keogh joined Christmas FM last year and is now on her second year. As regards radio work, she has been a contributor and producer on Today FM and previously presented on FM104.

I definitely heard it once or twice already in the current run, but I'm not sure if I heard it in previous years on Christmas FM. It's not a Christmas song at all - it just happened to be a hit at Christmastime.

100% been played before this and previous years. I've definitely heard it being played a few times over the years.

Little Saint Nick is my automatic turn off ChristmasFM song this year, currently 3 days in a row now for hearing it when I do tune in.

I'm genuinely surprised I haven't heard any of my instant 'change channel' tunes this year. I've been listening in quite a bit since it went live on FM and haven't heard christmas shoes, or Dolly Parton once this year…

    I've jinxed it now, haven't I???

We put in a request for our families back home and it was like our youngest won the lotto. She went mad with excitement.

I haven't heard it yet on this year's FM run, but it will not bother me if I do! So long as I don't hear Holly Jolly Christmas by Dolly Parton….

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 11,669 ✭✭✭✭DvB

Have managed to avoid Dolly myself so far… suspect She'll catch up with me at some stage. Though I generally listen less and less once I finish up work for the year so maybe I'll get away with that one.

I've found it to be very "samey" this year. There's lots of good Christmas songs out there (just see Indie or Alternative Christmas playlists on Spotify) but none are played by Christmas FM which is a shame.

Wrapped some presents this evening while listening on the app
