Hard drive partitions

I have salvaged a 120GB 2.5" SATA disc from a broken laptop, and bought an external USB casing to make it into a portable HD.
I have deleted the 2 NTFS partitions from the disc, but XP's Disc Management also reports another partition, not attached to a drive letter. It claims its
    "FAT EISA Configuration"; its 118MB
I know 118MB is not much compared to the whole thing, but is it safe to delete it, and how ? XP only gives me a Help option on the context menu.

Utility and recovery partition, most likely.
Get a (Linux) boot disc and fdisk...

+1000 fdisk is the best choice of wrecking ball for this job.

    +1

Can't be anything other than a diagnostic partition at that size. Get rid of it.
