Has anyone recieved the link from the guy who was taking photos on both days. I think his name was Gerry or something.

On a slightly different note, but still on topic. Apparently, there was something strange noticed in the sky on the second day >>>>>

That was painful to watch. For most of the video the camera is either out of focus, at some odd angle or pointed at nothing.

It's not my video, but I agree. It is kinda harsh to view, but if you look, in the first few seconds of the clip there is something in the sky.

I assumed it wasn't your video, but yeah I have no idea what it is.

I know the guys down there tried to make it as realistic as possible, but I dont think they could have gotten a UAV to fly over head.

i think that one of the marshals had a camera mounted on his shoulder, he was wearing a camo overalls might be him

This is caused on a digital camera where there is no information for the camera to process, I.E White is defined a the absence of Light, Black the abundance.. So what happens is the sensor on the camera looks at the sun (in this case) and sees white, too much of it, and white being the absence of light reads as 0's to the digital sensor, so nothing is recorded and you get a black spot... Happens on Still's Camera also... Can happen off reflections too, quite rare..

Well, that or it's a "weather balloon" :o

I'll be brutally honest with you mate, I don't care what it is :p:D. I was just commenting that it hurt my eyes to watch that video ;).
Although if it was mounted on some guys shoulder that would explain a lot.

Is there a password available for those pics?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,088 ✭✭✭BioHazRd

I would imagine in order to get the password, you may have to pay a fee. Professionals rarely do anything for free (and rightly so imo)

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Masada

You could email Gerry at info-at-morganstudios.ie and ask if he doesn't mind them being stuck up here.they might be being held back for inclusion in the magazine though and you may not get access to them until after they have been printed.,:)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,829 ✭✭✭Stone.cold

when that link went up the pictures were visible, i'd assume they are password protected now to prevent viewing maybe the link should be removed?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,699 ✭✭✭samhail

they could at least show us the photos if they are going to be using them in a publications without our permission ?

Why would they need your permission? its their event and their photos?
and it was a suggestion, they would probably want to be holding them for print, as opposed to fact.

Why would they need your permission?

depends on the situation, age of the people, where people made aware that the pictures may be use in a publication, i believe there should always be an opt out method for people, but my experience is from the uk so may be different in ireland

but im shore a publication like take aim would be well aware of any laws regarding this issue

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,088 ✭✭✭BioHazRd

The takeaim cup was run by a magazine that features airsoft articles and pictures. You attend this event for which they have secured the services of a professional photographer and reckon they still need your express permission to use any photos taken ?
Doesn't make sense to me I'm afraid

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Masada

Nope, yore fair game since it their event, regardless of age. permission to snap a minor is a courtesy, not a law. :)

as i said in my post im only talking about my experiance when i lived in the uk and sporting events, i have no experience of the irish law
    regardless of age.

considering the iaa's involvement, with the new position of CPO and there new status as a official sport with a code of conduct, the iaa would be rather interested in ensuring this 'courtesy's' are followed at any event there name is connected to, then again it does come down to how the phones are used, for example if they are used names of the minors should not be used, so the two can not be connected

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Masada

Its a courtesy in a general sense. ie, walking down the street and you see a child on a bicycle that would make a nice photo.
Going to an event like the cup, you cannot expect not to be in a pic somewhere, realistically.
I don't see why they (the IAA) should really have to ensure this courtesey is followed, as its not a law and their is no malicious intent involved.
Expecting not to get photographed in ay event run by an international airsoft mag is a little big silly in my opinion..,:)

the iaa do not have to ensure anything, i only made the point that considering airsoft is classed as a sport with all the baggage of cpo and code of conduct it does give people a duty of care in area, this could be as little as not including names of minors with photos

i was only discussing the issue and giving my view, i do apologize if this seems to have stepped on toes, peopel are getting far too jumpy round hear

is an interesting one, i do know a large number of people that do not want pictures of them in airsoft gear doing the rounds simple because of there job and stuff like that, from what you say they would have to stay clear of any event connected to the take aim

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Masada

    not my toes anyway.,lol

im just pointing out that they dont have to get individuals permission as per samhail's post there, before people start wrongly demanding access to the togs pics.,:)

In the same light, if they didn't want their boss to see them dressed as a leprechaun, they wouldn't have the ability to vet RTEs footage of the Paddys parade.:)

swings and roundabouts :D , public v private skirmish site, a lot of its as you say curtsy but when i was at college doing photography it was always made clear to me that i had a responsibility and not to take liberty with my camera at events and when out and about, i have 100s of images taken over the years not published because of people wish's, as i said i seem to have had difference experiences to others

    WE want pics!!!!!

Sorry folks, I cannot understand why the link now needs a password. :confused:When I heard back from the owner of the photos, they said to pass the link to whoever would be interested in seeing them i.e all of you!!! :)

I don’t think the issue of having the photos taking from the owners website is the reason behind the password, as the ability to right click and ‘save as’ was disabled.
In fact the pictures all had a disclaimer stating the photo were of a smaller size and were lower resolution to allow people to view before purchasing them.

Didn't you know? Airsoft in Ireland is riddled with teh Dramaz. Rather than adding to it with dramatic outbursts you might want to consider pressing the report post button instead... if not you're just making a a bad matter even worse.

Can we all calm down before this gets any sillier? Thanks.
