In trouble... Cannot sort out JSB

Hi Guys

Bit of a long story but I'm at the end of my tether at this stage. The company I worked for went into liquidation on Oct 30th. I went in the next working day to sign on to welfare. They said because I was in college in the first half of 2007 that I don't have enough stamps paid. They sent Me to my old college to get a letter saying when I started and finished college to see if I could get some college credits.

In the mean time the p45 came from last job. I handed this in at local welfare office. Got the college letter and handed this in too.

Got a letter last week saying that they never recieved a p45 from local office and now they need a letter confirming the first stamp paid after leaving college.

I've been on to revenue a few times and first time they said they'd send out letter (They cant get the p45) SO I have been waiting for that all week. I called again this morning and revenue tell Me that they'll send Me out whatever info they can but it might not be enough for welfare.

I've been looking for jobs all day everyday and trying to sort out this welfare business... I really dont know what to do because if it continues the way it's going I wont have enough money to pay rent or feed myself after this month.. I'm livin on about 30 euro a week till my savings run out.. It's so depressing and I've been back so many times.. My next stop is to go down there and beg!

Any one any advice or know where/if I can get another p45 and letter confirming first stamp paid after college? I did hand in p45 but local office never passed it on. It has been a month and I still havent been able to apply succesfully. I'm jumping through all their hoops and still nothing! I dont know what I'm going to do if I cant pay rent in January

Apply for supplementary welfare allowance which is a means tested payment. You will be assessed on household income of yourself and/or your partner if applicable, savings, investments etc. You apply by going to the community welfare officer in your local health centre.

If you dont have sufficient credits/stamps - you can apply for Jobseekers allowance which is a means tested payment.

Did you hand the whole part of your P45 into the local office - there was a section in the P45 that is suppose to be detached and sent to social welfare.

Can you could get in touch with the liquidator or former employer and get them to re-issue you with the P45. Your employer should also have being issuing you with P60's at the end of each tax year from first employment. You should also have been receiving P21 balancing statements from revenue each year.

You can request P21 balancing statements from revenue for all years.

Thanks a million for that Ger really appreciate it. Have been in contact with liquidator they have given me p45. so just need balancing letter for 07 and i should be able to claim! Thanks again for the help
