Here is me praying that Rita gets killed off in this show. Time and time again I can't help but think that she is the weakest link in Dexter. I hate her! So so much! At least if she gets killed Dexter has plenty of time to kill people without her whining, constantly happy smile leering over his shoulder all the time!

Well she is an interesting piece of the puzzle that is Dexter. This season is all about if he can juggle a family or not,and if he could end up treating them like trinity treats his family. So in that sense she and her kids are a good way for Dex to explore more about himself. So if she was left in the background that would be grand.

But the fact that they keep having to try find stories for her that are pretty crap,that makes her annoying. Also the character is very annoying in general. She never stops whining. I really like Julie Benz as an actor but ye the character can be very annoying.

I hate her as well, everything about her irritates me. I spent the first few seasons hoping that he would get pissed off and kill her or she would find out and he would kill her but I've just given up now. Her voice goes through me.

Can't understand why everyone's bitching about Rita and why people want her killed off?

She's in here for a reason...as in how can Dexter cope with having a family etc while being a serial killer.
Will he turn out like Arthur? Will his family find out what kind of monster he is etc?
If Rita wasn't in it it would be the same story season after season..and we don't want that..we want to see Dexter evolve..
And even if Rita was killed off there's still the kids..
