Bassist + other musicians wanted for Indie Band

    Hi, I'm a singer in Dublin with a drummer on board and we are starting an indie/alternative band.

    We need a bassist and would be interested in getting any keyboard players, strings players, experienced guitarists or pianists on board too. Ideally we'd like people in their 20s, doesn't matter if you're male or female or if you play some weird instrument that you think would be interesting but I haven't mentioned.

    We plan to take it pretty slowly at first, just trying to get to know each others' playing styles and personalities etc, but if you are interested in taking part and would like to meet up for a drink and a chat in town, PM me or email toenes@gmail.com and we can arrange something.

    Brief list of current influences in no particular order would include:
    Doves, Radiohead, The National, Broken Social Scene, Bjork, The Shins, Interpol, Los Campesinos, Bloc Party, Sigur Ros, Weezer, Idlewild, Animal Collective, Arcade Fire, Strange Death of Liberal England......ya know, loads of indie stuff.

    Im a bassist and have very similar influences. I've been looking to start or join an indie band for quite a while but haven't found anyone up for it. Im 15 and is probably why haven't made such success but maybe by joining an older group you'll have similar ideas to myself. I've played a few gigs and have done alot of my own recording. If age is a problem, no probs.

    Any mp3 samples? Even older tracks...just to get an idea of your voice and what the drummers skills are like?

    Cheers for the responses everybody. I'm going to keep in touch with everyone interested but as things stand we've a drummer, at least one singer/guitarist, a couple more guitarists, a keyboard player and a bassist who are planning to meet up in the next fortnight to have a chat and bounce ideas around.

    If I haven't gotten back to you personally yet I just haven't gotten around to it, but after meeting all the other interested people we'll see who intends to go ahead with the project and who doesn't, and if someone wants out I'll be back PMing and posting looking for more help! :D

    The drummer wasn't in the band I was in, so I don't have any MP3s of him, but this was the band I sang/rhythm-guitared in:
