It's a new chat show and you are in charge of selecting a host for the show. As we know RTÉ and some independent producer have gone with Lucy Kennedy and Brendan O'Connor. But lets say they didn't exist who would you choose for your chat show

    Ray D'Arcy
    Ian Dempsey
    Matt Cooper
    Alan Hughes
    Karen Koster
    Aoife Ní Thuairisg
    Mark Cagney
    Martin King
    Derek Mooney
    Andrew Maxwell
    Will Leahy
    Brendan O'Carroll
    John Creadon

    Rules:

    1. Person must be living in Ireland (e.g. Dara O'Brien and he is too expensive anyway, f sake)
    2. Person must be alive (e.g. Pat Kenny, haha Joke )
    3. Person must not have hosted a chat show before (e.g. Marty Whelan, he had one in the early 1990s)
    4. Person must have had some Broadcasting experience on any service.

Ian Dempsey. Accompanied by Zig and Zag. Guaranteed to draw the 20-35 age group in, at least.

said to say but it is looking more and more like the 25 to 40 year old age group! 20 years olds never saw Zig and Zag on Dempsey's den (That's what they used to call it before that Ray D'Arcy fella took over, you can tell he insisted that his radio show be called The Ray D'Arcy Show when RTÉ didn't call it D'Arcy's Den).

I'm at a loss to think of anyone talented, and with enough charisma and appeal that I'd watch every week.

    Daniel Day-Lewis.
    Hey, he meets the requirements!:D

But seriously, I wouldn't choose any of the people on the list. We seem to be seriously lacking talented presenters who aren't annoying.

    Brendan O'Carroll? Seriously??
Why not just throw in Brendan Grace and Twink while you're at it! :)

Hard to pick from that list, though....

I was looking for an old comedian that might be able to hold a show on their own Twink worked on the Live Mike and Brendan Grace used to present Live From the Olympia.

You can make your own suggestion.

Yeah I know. Struggling to come up with an irish presenter who has charisma, is funny & charming, and entertaining at the same time. Tubridy is probably the best we have.

Kathryn Thomas? (I know she has her haters, but she is very affable).

    Bring back Gay Byrne?

I'd say give a shot to some of the younger more-inexperienced (on TV anyways) members of the entertainment industry.

e.g Ray Foley (I know he has his haters.. but he hasn't done much on TV bar an appearance on 'You're Fired') or Dermot Whelan.
