timing of headline band?

I'm going to see the Tragically Hip at Tripod Friday (I know very few people have heard of them...but they're the biggest band in Canada for the past 15 years). Tickets say door opens at 7:30, and I have no info on an opening band. So, I'm new to Ireland (from Canada, obviously).....does this mean the band comes on at 8pm,…

So, I'm new to Ireland (from Canada, obviously).....does this mean the band comes on at 8pm, 9pm, or, as in Canada, does it mean 11 pm? I just don't want to get there at 7:30 with a preggers wife only to wait 4 hours for the band to come on.

Any ideas from seasoned Irish gig-goers?

I'm guessing around 9pm unless it was stated otherwise on the ticket. Tripod doubles up as a venue for clubbing events and, being on a Friday night, I figure there will be another event following the one you're going to. In any case, it shouldn't go on past 11pm.
