I am looking at replacing my laptop and need to know what kind of things are important for processing photos on the go. Is it processor speed, ram, graphics?
I am looking at something like this : http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en/ho/WF06b/321957-321957-3329744-64354-64354-4011360-4036147.html

Portability and long battery life appeal to me but not sure how a computer like this would cope with viewing/ editing photos. I use gimp/picasa mostly.
Can any of the more technologically savvy among you help me out please? :D

personally id go for a faster cpu
    ram is grand
    hd speed is grand
look into dedicated gfx, kinda becoming more important with ps utilising it these days and stupid os's needing lots.

ive nothing but bad stories bout hps last two exs had one each and both failed

    display.

macbook pro has prob the best laptop screen for photo work, the new gen has improved over the previous models which were good. tho a dedicated external display is best.

15inch and 17inch models now allow for matte option, 13inch might have the option in the future so now only come with glossy display.

the 15inch macbook pro has a very fast internal sd reader, faster than usb2

The HP's or the GF's?

I have a 3 year old DELL which was fairly high spec at the time & won a MacBook last year (not the Pro) I do think that the screen on the Mac is better than the one on the DELL

    thanks.

Obviously the screen is important but I am still €300 short of being able to afford a mac book.
