    Hi,

I've just gotten an e-mail from Microsoft to say that I have an interview with them tomorrow.

Just wondering what I should wear to this? I would initally think a suit but I don't have one. It's a student internship so maybe I don't need to wear one?

Is it that big of a deal?

Also, do you need to study for these things. Do they throw some pretty nasty questions at you?

Like all interviews, wear a suit.
It shows some respect for the position at least.

Find out what you can about what they do at that office. At least have an idea.

1 day is very short notice of an interview really though

Thats exactly what I was thinking but where the hell am I supposed to get a suit at this stage though??

I was thinking of just shoes, jeans a shirt..kind of smart casual. I'm sure they'd understand after only giving me possibly less than 24 hours notice!!

I still don't know what time it is. They said applicants in Dublin are tomorrow while others from outside Dublin are on thursday.

    Cool..

Ye sure, I can rent one but where will I get on for tomorrow? I'll try out in Dundrum this evening and possible town in the morning depeding on the time of the interview.

If that fails i'll just go casual and be done with it.

@keithgeo what kind of work do you do??

    From: http://www.microsoft.com/student/en/us/Career/own-your-future-interview-prep.aspx
Pick out your clothes two days before; that gives you an extra-day for any emergency dry cleaning. Hopefully you’ve networked and know what people usually wear. You don’t want to be the only person in a suit when everyone else is wearing jeans, but it’s always better to be overdressed. For example, a guy might plan on wearing a tie, and remove it, as appropriate, once getting the lay of the land. Similarly, a girl might wear a blazer or sweater, and remove it if needed.

Are you interviewed for a technical or a buisiness role?
I was interviewed for a technical intership last year and I wore jeans and t-shirt and it worked out fine for me.

Dunno why someone would go to an interview in jeans an a t-shirt  Congrats on the job though

OP head into Dunnes, pair of black trousers, white shirt/tie pack. €30 max. That's all that's necessary really.

It was a bad idea, most of others were dressed well. But I had thought because it was just an internship it wouldn't be necessary to go and find a suit.
