The €30 'registration fee' for this game is for the Monaghan Harps G.F.C. fundraiser. €120 per player will be paid out on the night with a minimum guaranteed of €6,000.
Neill Channing, winner of the 2008 Irish Open will be attending this event.
Neill will be present in the venue from 3pm onwards and will give a talk to players on the skills required to play the game well, and to give an interview to Irish Poker Radio presenter Iain Cheyne (www.irishpokerradio.com)
Neill has recently opened a web site at www.blackbeltpoker.com
For every player that signs up to this site for $10 on or prior to this event, Neill will double the total sign ups and award this as prizes to a 'last longest signee' and/or the player who knocks him out of the tournament (provided this player is also a signee).
This should add a nice bit of value to what looks like being a very well attended event.

Really looking forward to this one. I'm going to try and get there quite early. I'm doing an interview for Irish Poker Radio and I'll be giving a talk about tells. I'll then be free to meet a few friendly faces old and new.

As for Black Belt Poker. We are a new site and we'd like to get a few sign-ups. If you're coming to the event, it would be good if before you get there, you could:

Make a profile on the social network.

    http://blackbeltpoker.com/play-poker/community/#registration

Download the poker software and link the poker account to the profile

    http://blackbeltpoker.com/play-poker/

    Deposit (minimum $10)

If you do all those things you will be eligible for the bonus prizes I'm adding to the prize pool.

Hopefully a few of you will do that and I look forward to seeing you there.

We've a few sign ups for this already Neil. We'll have a laptop there for anyone wishing to sign up on the day.

I've done a few of these things and I know it's really hard to sign-up lots of people on the day, just because of time. If I'm to be really generous with the added prizes I need lots of people to follow the instrustions and sign-up BEFORE they arrive on the day.

The more people sign-up, the more I can give away.

Need 3rd, 4th, 5, 6th, as well if you ahev them mick.

BTW: €20 was a real treat for the average poker players.

For €20 the table of 11 consisited of Neil, Doke, and Rob Taylor (who lost the last longer to Neil) and obviously i had a go.

It was nice for these guys to take the time to sit down and have a bit of craic. Even though Channing walked away with the money.
