I always go to the gym in the morning, before work, and get breakfast at work.

Breakfast is a glass of milk, two poached eggs on wholmeal bread with beans.

Im wondering if i should remove the yolk as, tasty as they are, they are almost completely fat, right?

Nope ... full of protein and good cholesterol, get 'em in to you.

Cold Hard Boiled eggs and a shake... Can't go wrong! I work out in the morning and have 3 eggs as my second breakfast afterwards.

Nutritious and Delicious! And they add that extra kick to the farting too.

I have yet to hear any good reason not to eat egg yolks.

Don't worry about the little things too much (we all have a tendancy to :)). They're unlikely to affect your training at all.

They're made entirely of Tipp Ex...

It's not true, but it's a good reason...

There is nothing actually wrong with yolks, the only reason I would think is that keeping yolks in does bring up the calories a fair bit, I would say if your keeping your carbs low and eating only veg as a carb source its ok to keep them in but if your diet is fairly heavy in good starchy carbs I would limit them, still have 1 or 2 though

The yokes are great but the only issue I'd have is that if you were really trying to optimise your nutrition, fat isn't the best macronutrient to take post workout. Don't get me wrong, you'll always gain with eggs but for a true anabolic effect, unblunted by the effects of fat, quick acting carbs and protein is the way to go. The eggs won't do any harm though and I'd be willing to bet that you will see gains if the training is right.

People who think whole eggs are bad for you (cholesteral wise etc) are on another planet. The yolk contains almost all of the vitamins in an egg, aswell as extra protein. Don't let them go to waste

I would only have 2 eggs regardless. But your prob right, i should cut down on the auld carbs ( i have a glass of OJ before thegym, wholemeal bread for breaky, spuds at lunch and rice with my stirfry in the evening. thats a fair amount of carbs).

Concensus is as i hoped, the yoke is good for you and yummy.

    Thanks for the advice guys

Is that how you normally eat before every gym session or just for cardio? I just couldn't imagine going to the gym without a breakfast first. I go in the mornings too. Without my oats, brown bread and some fruit i just wouldn't have any energy to lift what are in my goals. Especially on very taxing movements.

    Get them in,
I'm on a pretty big calorie deficit (weekday, I aim to take in 1000 only), and I eat two eggs most days (the only exception is if I make oat pancakes for after the gym, then its 1 egg + oats)
There may be a few calories in eggs and I find they help me keep my daily total down

    That's dangerously low.

    +1

That'll harm you more than it'll help you.

++1, ridiculous for a male. if you were sitting on your butt for a full 24hrs per day it would still be low IMO, but going anywhere near a gym while taking in only 1k cals wont be doing you any favours...

As I said before, its not everyday, the weekend beers mess up my deficit so I go extra on monday to thurs, obvious some days I don't stick to it.
It's sort of like a pre-emptive against days were I just say f-it and have a burger

There is no way I do a 7000 week guys

edit: plus there's the small snacks I work I forget to count, these guys are always bringing in sweet/cake/biscuits

and days were I forget my lunch, so its a 350cal sandwich, instead of a 200cal tuna and soup
