Phone as a modem

    Is there a difference in speed between using my phone as a modem and using a 3g dongle?


    If there is why, do they not use the same 3g connection.

    Depends on the phone. Some don't support the same speeds as the modems, some don't even support HSDPA. Some operators won't let you use the midband SIM in a phone. For pre-pay, it should be possible to buy the SIM and then buy the broadband addon, except for Meteor, they won't let you do that.
