Firebricks in a boiler stove?

Currenty we have a hunter herald boiler stove , its the herald 8 i think.
Anyway it has a pretty big firebox and im finding that were going through a lot of fuel with it , could easily burn 2 bails of briquettes in a night , if i just burn turf i would use 2 bags , and ecobrit gives off great heat but its expensive to use all the time.

What i was wondering is if i was to put a couple of firebricks either side of the firebox would it make much difference to the boiler output to the rads, currently heating 2 doulbe rads (1000 x 500) and 4 singles (1000 x 500) and a standard hot water tank..
It has a wraparound boiler and i was thinking that the heat would get pushed more to the back if the bricks were in place , or am i just gonna lower its output.

I recently got a similar stove second hand
was searching on the internet for information on the fire brick issue and weather there should be any in place when I found this.
how did the stove work out for you.
I have only lit mine 2 times so far but realy impressed with the output.
Bit worried I could do damage if all parts are not in place as designed,
I have access to quite a bit of builders timber waste .. Can / do you burn this with the grate or on the stove floor , nuisance taking the grate in and out as there is a bit of heat damage to some of the bars .. youtube video appeared to show an extra kit you can install to burn wood but I wasn't given it.

Yeah I had a stove that was too big, was flying through fuel and the house was getting too warm. Someone in the family was chucking an old storage heater out and there was concrete blocks with steel fibres inside the storage heater that were the perfect size to line the sides and back of the stove I had. Used them for a few years before I moved house, they worked a treat, used to be able to light a fire with 3 or 4 briquettes that would last the evening.
