New Boss Pedal

The Boss tuner pedal just got better. Although I always thought the Boss TU-2 was a bit sluggish. I hope the responsiveness is a bit better.

Although Korg and Digitech Hardwire tuners also have true bypass.
Are there any other good alternatives to the Boss tuners?

    Sure there are....

Sorry. I'm aware that's no help, but I still just us the one on my ME-50 as a guide and fine tune from there so I'm absolutely no use whatsoever.

Believe it or not hes spot on lol.

If you cant use the Tu-2 / tu-3 theres no hope other then train your ear.

These pedals are A1 in my books, I wouldn't use anything else but I am lucky enough to be able to tune with my ear too for fine tunning.

Does anyone find that using a tuner all the time doesn't help your ears for natural tuning?

Although the ears are not good enough when in a gig. You need to be in tune with the bass player. The audience demand that sometimes.

I have the Korg (above), and the Fender version of the TU2 but to be fair...I use the TU2 as I think it's by fair the best floor tuner stomp available...I can't imagine the TU3 is actually gonna be worth the upgrade though!

Hmm TU3 or Peterson Strobostomp. I really need to pick up a good tuner but heard the strobos have reliability issues and are harder to use but they provide more accurate tuning

TU2 does the job for me. I have the Peterson iStobosoft app for my iphone which works REALLY well for setting intonation. :)

The tu2's accuracy is within +/- 3 cents and the iStrobosoft is within +/- 1/10th cent.

I have a TU2 and a Strobostomp, and after getting used to the SS I just can't use the TU2 anymore.

id consider getting one if i used it enough live, but i wudnt have much use for it, i reckon its nice and handy for spot on intonation

Tuning by ear is great, but can your ears mute your signal so your band can keep playing while you tune? :pac:

I need a tuner pedal too. I was looking at the Korg Pitchblack, but this looks like a nice response to Korg breaking in on the TU-2's territory? Is it a Pitchblack killer?

I see several sites (Thomann, Digital Village) are after taking about €25 off the price of the TU-2 to make way for the TU-3.

The Korg Pitchblack kicks the ****e out of the TU-2. True bypass when it's off, and it even bypasses if it loses power. :pac:

The Peterson tuners look great, and I will own one at some stage, but in the economic short-term... my basses tuning machines can't practically be adjusted within anything close to 1/10th of a cent accuracy anyway.

If there was a pedal that could mute my drummer while I tune by ear that would be really something!! :D

The biggest advantage I find with the Peterson is being able to intonate properly.
