US: 4x10 - "Lost Boys" [** SPOILERS WITHIN **]

    TV.com summary:
Dexter thinks he knows the ins and outs of the Trinity Killer until a 10 year old boy goes missing.

    http://www.tv.com/dexter/lost-boys/episode/1309562/summary.html?tag=prev_episode;title

That synopsis doesn't say much which is good - I'd rather go into the episode knowing nothing at all at this point...

So after the brilliance of last week, it's time to see how the final quarter of the season plays out. If last week was any indication, we're in for a strong end to the season.

Good episode. But Jesus, the next episode looks brilliant!

Loved Dexter's A-team style dive at Lithgow at the end!

Also with the kid sinking into the cement gave it a classic 80s feel. Will Dexter overcome the baddie and save the kid? Stay tuned!

Should I watch the preview? Do you think it's worth the spoilers for the tantalisation? I hate the ones that just give everything away! I guess it's hard to judge..

I'd say watch it... I don't know if it's full of curve balls or if it does actually give things away. See the link here (if you dare): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2R_yLbzdf2k

    I know!!
I didn't want to watch the trailer, but after seeing the title of the next episode it seemed pretty obvious what was going to happen.
But wow it looks incredible. Most excited ive ever been about a programme i'd say :p

Interesting to see the old CI woman make a reappearance. She said that she called to Harry's other CI's house (Laura Moser's) and had a row with her. What's the betting she'll mention her two kids and Laura's painted fingernails - which will instantly mean Ice Truck Killer.

Awesome episode, but completely overshadowed by next weeks preview... Can't wait. You know it's getting close to Christmas when there's only 2 episodes of Dexter left...

    Oh crap , Oh CRAP

Better episode than last week, but like echo'd next weeks looks amazing.

No more dull episodes, boys and girls.
That was flippin' brilliant, and the preview for next week is, just, wow.

Oh man as if the episode wasnt brilliant enough I was literally giggling like a school girl after the trailer for next week. This Season has just been brilliant. Best show on at the moment no doubt.

Another fantastic episode. <3 this season.

Next weeks episode looks unreal, Showtime are building to another great season finale, Can't Wait!

Wow, Angel actually did some police work this episode and didn't do much chasing LaGuerta.

Seems to me one of those two have handed in their notice to showtime and this will be the last season for them.

Their affair will be caught by the brass and one of them will be fired out of the department, probably Angel.

He'll then give a passionate speech to save LaGuerta's job who'll be busted from captain down to detective where she'll play a more active, on the street role.

That said, I'm quite getting attached to Quinn this last few episodes, think he's proved himself to be a decent enough guy.

He also is the spit off a young Ray Liotta.

That was very, very good but **** me (and twice on Sundays :D), next week's preview does look amazing. For awhile there, I thought the DNA results would not be in until next week but glad they moved things along so quickly. I want to see more on why Christine would go to the extremes of killing for her, apparently distant, father - especially since she didn't know all along what he truly is.

Lithgow continues to be awesome as Trinity (though can we really call him that now?) - some amazing range in this episode alone.

And with the old CI showing back up, it seems like it's going to be the perfect s**tstorm for Dex - can't wait for next week!

He hasn't done much this season, if anything I'd say he's in danger of being fired due to low productivity before anything else. Maybe that'll be the big shocker - Angels mid year performance review, and being forced to take early retirement for flaunting dress code rules and being a soppy git.

And to echo what everyone else has said about next weeks trailer: Gawd-damn! Can't wait!

Am I the only one who doesn't watch previews? Stop telling me how good next week's episode looks! I don't wanna know anything!!!

Though this was another excellent episode. Arthur is really unravelling, ever since he caught the curveball that was Dexter. The element of the kid is great... Question: What age is Cody? I've a nasty feeling that Arthur might find out Dexter and seek a replacement for a new series of killings.

    But, but, but....

Ah, those preview clips are always edited up to make it look like so much is happening, you just don't really know. You just know it's going to be good coming down to the last 2 episodes though. One thing about the preview though, and I'll spoiler this bit
I got the feeling it might be about the next two episodes, and not just the next one. Doesn't seem that we'd get that much finish type material, before the final episode.

Back to this episode though, as it was well good enough to get us through till next week. Arthur, what an absolute psycho. And hot reporter chick who's name escapes me right now did kill Lundy for Arthur, and did know he's a killer, though just about the bathtub part of it.

Best episode of the year, hands down, and not even over yet.

Good episode this week. Overall this season has been pretty good (thanks to Lithgow) and far better than last season.

I still can't get over how sloppy and amateur Dexter has become in this season, what happened to his careful planning and rules? He's made so many cover-blowing mistakes that he's well gone by his nine lives of luck.

One example being when Trinity was at the building site to jump to this death. Dexter gets ready to syringe him before realising what Trinity was going to and he just about grabs him.

5 seconds letter a group of builders are helping Dexter pull Trinity up. Wouldn't they have noticed Dexter sedating and dragging an unconcious 60 year old down the stairs and across the building site?

I still think the one he should be killing is his fùckin' annoying wife who's always out of breath. :pac:

Yeah, it seems to be a pretty big theme this season. Dexter's family is causing him to get sloppy and screw up.

On another note, does anyone else realise how little work dex actually does. On the rare occasion he's at the station, he's looking up some shít for his next kill or something like that.

Yea, I dunno what the hell he's getting paid for he just seems to do 1 case a week.

I still can't warm to the idea of him having a kid, is he actually any kind of father to him? He doesn't seem to do much except buy pills when it gets sick every week.

I REALLY hope he kills Rita, up the arse!

Class episode, and the next two episodes look class...

So the reporter did not know her Dad was Trinity...Dunno why she printed the story so, further outing him so....

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 4,668 Mod ✭✭✭✭Hyzepher

I think Christine dod know her father was the Trinity killer. She successfully tracked him via his postcards to similiar murders in the area when he was there. She was very much aware that the police were linking the bathtub killings to a series of three. Since she is a reporter I assume she can put 2+2 together.

Not disputing that one bit....thats hit the nail on the head there, but its a bit odd, how she printed the story about The Trinity Killer, knowing it was her Dad, and then kills Lundy to protect him.

The story she wrote was only about the bludgeonings - not the three kill cycle of Trinity and really had no info the police wasn't really aware of. And she needed a story badly...

On the other hand, when she figured that Lundy was getting suspicious of Arthur after bumping into him, she felt Lundy was getting too close (and correctly so) and took him out.

Though I still don't see why she would do that for Arthur - he hasn't been a great father to her either from what we've seen. And she does seem exceedingly needy, remember how clingy she became with Quinn at Thanksgiving?

ah..I must rewatch that episode so and see, I thought it was about all killings, not just the bludgeonings.

From the latest episode Christine seems to be only aware of the bath tub killings.

Hmmm, we had a single "Meh" on 4x09 too... is it the same person? May in fact make the two last polls public though I'm not too much in favor of them...

I'm almost certain it was indeed only about the bludgeonings - though if she has now put the bathtub killings and everything else together (from what she may know about Lundy's investigation), I'm not sure...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,571 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

Can't make a private poll public...
Ah well, I wonder what the "Meh" voter's benchmark for a great episode is?

Anyway back on topic, roll on next week! :)

I meant for the last two remaining episodes - I've found out the hard way that a poll can't be modified after the fact :).

But oh well, everyone is entitled to their opinion...

Really looking forward to next week's too and possibly the week after that (though last season, most significant events happened in the penultimate episode and not the last one...). It's going to be terrible waiting for the episodes to drop!

Or to use Barney from HIMYM's thing, she seeks daddy's approval the whole time because she never got it.

Loved this episode, best of the season so far imo. I also refrained from watching the preview for next week. A real return to season 1&2 form after a relatively disappointing season 3. Lithgow as mentioned several times has been class. I think it's a pity that the reporter got arrested though as we won't get to see her in the nip again.
