Well I just checked Focal.ie and couldn't find the translation for this, anyone got any suggestions for 'term of endearment?! Doesn't have to be literal.. more than likely won't be! A thaisce is one that I use with my friends, and 'a stór' sounds to me like for a pet, or your husband and I don't use it so far.

Is there anything else that would translate for use when speaking to your sister?

'Ainm ceana' is the irish for a pet name. You could use 'a chroí' with your sister - it's not as mushy as you'd think!
