Anyone a fan of doing Neg Reps?

I remember Muscle and Fitness doing and article on them and they seem pretty dangerous, but I'm trying to increase my strength and these are apparently a Godsend.

    Any feedback?

I like them, dangerous since they are so easy to do, therefore it is easy to overdo them. I like doing them when
A-I know I will not be working out for several days so have time to recover since you get DOMA delayed onset muscle agony!;)
B-When I am not feeling my best doing a workout it is an easy way to push yourself hard when not feeling up to it.

I like them. Just make sure you have a spotter or power cage or some other way to make sure you are doing them safely.

Depends on the exercise, I see no need for the smith machine, though I did like negative on a chest press machine, I was able to use my feet to push it forward. You can do one arm at a time on some exercises, e.g. bicep curl or overhead press, your free hand can assist in lifting the weight. The only others I do are dips & chin/pullups, there is no real danger with those, you just drop down. I have seen youtube clips of negative squats in a rack, looked a bit dodgy, but on the other hand if you know each time you have to dump the weight and not come back up then it will be no surprise.
