Is it just me or are Jeremy Guscott, Jonathan Davies and alot of the BBC crowd quite Anti-Irish (Maybe not Keith Wood:D)?

I always find them having a negative outlook on Ireland just read this article by Guscott http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/rugby_union/english/8381907.stm
now its nothing major but there is defintely a negative tone to it.

I don't think they like the fact that their little neighbours are Grand Slam Champions and unbeaten this Season!!!

I'm pretty sure I read a piece by Jonathan Davis after the 6 Nations this year saying that Ireland may be Grand Slam champions but are not the best team. He then declared that England were!

Read Guscott's article pretty quickly there but I don't see much wrong with it tbh (other than when he says BOD's kicking is improving :D). Davies on the other hand is very slack with his praise for Ireland.

I don't think they care to be honest.

I really don't think they're anti-Irish or any such nonsense. Its possible to read too much into what they say.

I don't think they are anti Irish and if they are so what, its their problem then.

No Pocock in either team? The guy's been fantastic.

Wasn't it Davies who said that he wouldn't have picked BOD to even go on the Lions Tour, let alone play (and be the best player)!

Some people take a stance and then realise that they have to stick to it for fear of being ridiculed. I don't mind Guscott's stuff - at least he's coming from a position of authority.

There's always going to be that element of needling between the two countries, but I was highly amused today reading the various Sunday paper Sports sections:
The Sunday Independent rated BOD 9/10 while The Observer gave him 6/10. Apart from that final tackle and one remarkable break he had a quiet day and I thought 6/10 was about right. (The Observer rated Kearney highest with 8/10).

Everyone sees these things differently, and we're likely to be a bit blinkered ourselves...

God no, that was Stephen Jones, and Guscott and several other people told him he was off his rocker.

Exactly. O Driscoll was 6, nothing better. That hit at the end was his best contribution to the game.
As for Guscott I find he never has anything remotely interesting to say, extremely poor analyst.

Stephen Jones is nothing but a paid troll...no one takes him seriously anymore.

Locked. Daft thin-skinned nonsense. No way am I allowing people to accuse these pundits of being anti-Irish. You may disagree with their opinions on a rugby footing, but lets leave the accusations of racism out of the picture. Time we all grew a pair in this respect.
