Lost Marriage Certificate

Hi there, I was cheif bridesmad at my sisters wedding last week and she gave me the wedding certificate to mind and post into the registary office while they're on honeymoon. Like an idiot I've no idea where I put it, does anyone know how i'd go about getting a replacement before they come back in a few weeks!??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

phone 'birth,death and marriage' they will tell you what to do,, maybe they may issue another one.

The completed form has to be returned the General Register Office within a month of the ceremony, otherwise there could be problems registering the marriage. I'd ring them ASAP for advice, but to be honest it probably isn't straightforward to get a replacement, and it has to be signed by all parties anyway.

I'd look everywhere for it, and recruit helpers for the search. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice, will ring them first thing and see what they say. If i'm lucky they might give a replacement or at least issue a new one when the bride and groom return in a few weeks and are available to sign the new copy and send it in before the month since the original date, uhh i'm such an eejit!
