    Hi
My free to air Satellite is not working after the rain, winds and lighting last week...

Do you think it has moved on the wall, the disk..

or the LMB got water, or hit by lighting... (but it look ok from the window)

    Thanks

rain shouldnt affect it, but lightening and wind will. Does the receiver turn on? if so would say its just moved slightly in the wind

Same thing happened to mine. The LNB got damp and failed (I tried another LNB which worked so everything else is fine). I put the LNB in the hotpress over the weekend and I'll try again tomorrow, but I'll probably have to get a new one.

They cost €20-€30 depending on the model required.

hi, all latest LNB's are interchangeable (with one exeption if you're using sky minidish) Even if you are using sky dish and want to change the LowNoiseBlock to universal there is a special adapter to use with Sky dish.
If you are using Lidl's dish - any LNB exept sky will fit

Sorry to piggy-back on this thread but I have a weather-related problem too.

The wind blew down our lidl satellite dish and LNB (have it 2 years and cheap as chips so not a major complaint). What I want to know is, can I just replace the dish and LNB and keep the receiver box? If so, where would I get replacements? Should I just wait until Lidl have them in again and replace the whole shebang? Thing is, I know (before this happened) that the dishes are a bit flimsy, so am I better off getting a new one?

Sorry, that's a load of questions, but i know the folks on here know their stuff;)

A dish and LNB are basically the same for all sat applications. Just get a new dish if you have to, if the old one is knocked out of shape. The trouble with the Lidl dish is that the support bracket is too weak. The LNB may be OK as well. You may just need a better support bracket.

Plenty os suppliers to choose from.

Thanks for that Sam, that's exactly what happened - support bracket went.
