Hi. Me & a friend went to have a little look around Northwood the other day & it seemed pretty good & really cheap too at €395 for 2 people for 14mths, which is just under the €200 mark pp. It was pretty busy considering it was after 8pm. Does anyone know how busy it gets around 6 or 7 as this will be the time I will be able to go most days. Thanks!

I normally wander up around 5ish and it's very busy but I never have a problem grabbing machines.

The car park is crap though. It's overflowing now at those times.

oh really? It was a pain trying to get parking, going arouund in circles trying to grab a space but I wasn't sure if this was all the time. But if it's true that despite this, there's still free machines, maybe I will join considering the other gyms nearby are double or more the price. Thanks!

If your just going to do some cardio you'll be fine as there are lots of treadmills, cross trainers, stationary bikes etc.

If your going to use weights, forget it.

I'd say I'll be mostly using the treadmills and bikes and maybe take the boxercise class so should be grand

It's cheap, and it's still a waste unless you want to do cardio and look at a bunch of clueless people sit and look at themselves in the mirror

I don't wanna look at other people or other people to be looking at me either, it's not a social club. This aspect was one of the reasons why I didn't join straight away. A lot of people I work with go there and arrange little 'dates' with each other and yap about it the next day, my mate has the same problem with her work colleauges. But at the end of the day, the motivation is to keep fit etc and just work away so once I have my headphones on I assume, or I hope it won't be an issue!

    You'll be grand so.

I was a member, but I hated it and left.

However I joined to lift weights, and thats almost impossible unless you've very flexible hours.

yea I heard it was like that in the weights room alright. They have a basic 'dedicated weights room' at the alsaa and its pretty quiet there but prob not worth the membership fee...?

I've no idea about the ALSAA, however have you looked at the Corpo gym in Ballymun?. Its suppose to be superb.
