    Something about the advertising? like he is probably more recognised by people as a guy who sells "health grills" than for his boxing, I expect many people do not even know he was a boxer, and think he is just famous for selling grills.

    I find it really odd how popular it became to link them to him, similar devices were out for years, but these are now called "george foremans" by many people like hoovers or ipods. On some chicken steak things I got it had instructions listed, "oven, grill, george foreman"

    I always found it strange that they had him promoting it, not like he was thin or anything, and no reputation for cooking, it would be like Darina Allen advertising a Punchbag for boxers.
