    hi guys,

quick question someone here might have come up with before.

Basically when i was 15 i got arrested for a minor offence. I am over 18 now, and im just wondering is this cleared from my records. I.e. in job applications, when it asks "do you have any criminal convictions", can I tick no honestly?

Would appreciate if anyone knows this!

You juvinal records are sealed once you turn 18 and you get a fresh start.

I don't think this is correct. If you get a conviction it stands no matter what age you are. The OP was most likely cautioned under the JLO Scheme. This is not a conviction and therefore they can honestly reply that they have not been convicted of anything.. I've never heard of records being "sealed" and getting a fresh start once you turn 18.

OP, Go to your local Garda Station and ask them, just to be 100% sure, but I have never heard of non-serious juvenile convictions being brought up in later court proceedings, so maybe they are sealed.

Ask your Local Guards, they will know for sure :)

I think 'sealed' is US term.

PULSE keeps all your convictions and more on record!

You only have a criminal record if you have been to court and convicted. If that hasnt happened then no you dont have a criminal record. If you were cautioned under the JLO scheme you still have no criminal record.

It is a US term and doenst apply here. When an adult person is convicted all previous convictions are read out that relate to the offence the person is being convicted of.
