I don't know your budget but if you had the money then "The Witchery" on the Royal Mile www.thewitchery.com is UNBELIEVABLE!!! we got the lunch menu at £15 per person and the food is... WOW! They are uber pricey though when it's not a set menu (they do a lunch and supper one but you have to book!), they have a bottle of dessert wine on the menu for £500 so that should give you an idea!! But they might do some wedding set menu... worth a look! the decor of the place is out of this world and its right by the castle so your photos would be fab!

They have some great pub type restaurants too that would do the trick if thats what you want? Id say book a weekend there and start asking locals, like the ones in the corner shops, they'll set you in the right direction. You can try all their recomendations and then pick!! :D

The Witchery as the other post said is also great. There are loads of venues in Edinburgh. Are ye going to be close to the city center?
