    Hey guys,
Thinking of planning a trip to Barcelona for next April, to include a Barcelona soccer match. Basically, I'm looking for advice on accomodation, I'd like to stay somewhere central but, also would like to be close to Barcelona airport and preferably in easy reach to the soccer stadium. Thinking of only going for 3/4 days!
Also, I'm curious as to whether there is a lot to do round Barcelona? and whether it is an expensive city to travel to?
    Many thanks

Scrap any ideas of staying close to the airport - that'd be like going to Dublin and staying in some godforsaken spot like the Regency in Santry. Get a central hotel/hostel/apartment whatever you fancy. The Camp Nou itself is very accessible, its on the underground/metro network. Match tickets can be booked on the official Barca website and are quite cheap compared to Premier League.

Aye, plenty to do and see in 3/4 days, you really won't/shouldn't be bored.

Expense wise, its a weird city. I assume you are talking drink (its what us Irish usually mean when they ask is a place expensive) and when I was there (2006) I found the spread of prices bizarre. Like it was €2 a pint in some studenty bars just off the main street (Los Ramblas), and then €9 a beer in some bars down by the beach. Played havoc with the round system (I got stung )
In general I'd put it at marginally cheaper than Dublin.

Barca can be a cheap city if you don't eat or drink in the tourist traps,
stay in the Gracia area, from there it's a lovely walk to all the tourist stuff. Be careful around Las Ramblas, there is alot of street crime.

The Metro is cheap and easy to use. Eat where the locals eat, keep an eye out for the "Menu del Dia" in local restarunts, you'll get great value and great food. The local beer is Estrella. (v.nice)

Thank you soo much for all the advice people, really appreciate it.
ArmaniJeanss, you mentioned you can purchase tickets off the official site, have you bought tickets from that site before, when i went on to it earlier, it seems impossible to purchase two tickets seated together:confused:

Be careful with Spanish football fixtures. They can be changed at late notice (about a week) at the behest of the TV companies. Its not unusual for a game to be listed as a Sunday kickoff all season long and then changed to a Saturday evening kickoff with under a week to go. Best to stay both Saturday and Sunday night to try to avoid this.

Yep, struggled with this myself but by checking every section I eventually found a couple of seats together.

What RATM said about fixture times is good advice by the way - in Spain you never know until the previous Monday whether a game is going to be Saturday or Sunday ko, the TV people leave it that late to decide.
