deerhunting with shotgun

    Is it possible to get shotgun cartridges strong enough for deer.Read an article about it been done in the us.You can get them there,are they available here.

    Not legal for deer in Ireland. It's practised in other place using large buck shot or solid slugs.

    Its practiced here quite a lot too let me assure ya. Ive come across deer on way too many occasions, shot and dying in agony, sometimes blinded by thugs with no respect whatsoever for wildlife.

    I'm well aware. I was referring to where it's a legal practice.

    I usually find that a 28gram 7.5 will do the trick out to 300m. Especially effective on a running deer give him plenty lead:D

    have to disagree there deeks, were using snipe shot up here in donegal and were dropping them in their tracks far out on the mountain, its all in the skillset of the shooter,,and use a quarter choke for best effect;)
