What aspect Ratio is the UPC analogue channels on?

    Well i have some curiousity with UPC on how they broadcast their 17 channels via the piece of wire?

    So are the aspect ratio are normally 4:3 or 14:9?

    A good few are 14:9 - The UK and Irish channels, for example. Others are generally 4:3. If you don't like the aspect ratio on analogue, switch to digital so you can decide for yourself. The aspect ratio on analogue is set to try please most of the customers. Everyone wont be happy but things are set so that the majority are.

    Well when i was in Ireland, i tuned my cousins tv in from the analogue cable wire. i seen the channels from UK and Irish channels are broadcasting in 4:3, yes you know the ones called RTÉ1, RTÉ2, TV3, TG4, BBC1 NI, BBC2 NI, UTV and CH4. Its broadcasting completely in 4:3. when i find out the channel called Sky1 its broadcasting in full 16:9 without a letterbox or anything.

    The cable area used to be Chorus thru. Is it only Ex-NTL cable services have 14:9?
