Heat pump servicing (urgent)!!

I may need to urgently contact a service guy on account of a sudden problem with our GSHP/Heat pump.
It was supplied by Dunstar and I know they are out of business - I have a phone number for Greenstar (who manufacture the heat pump) but not sure if they are open on Saturdays.

I think there is a chap based around the Tuam (or Headford) neck of the woods who I was told was doing servicing , etc of Dunstar and other heat pump/refrigeration engineering issues. If anyone has a contact number I'd really appreciate if you could send me a PM as I would like to get in contact with someone tomorrow.

The problem... seems like the compressor is not coming on when the stats in the house are calling for heat. I can hear the circulating pumps running and there are no low/high pressure lockout conditions flagged on the HP appliance. Also the collector flow light is lit.

One possibility is that the refrigerant gasses need refilling/re-charging -- the other is that the compressor is knackered (shudder....!)

This is Daves site. He used to work for Dunstar. You should find his number on here. Very honest and reliable guy. It might only need a phonecall to sort it out.

http://www.geostarengineering.com/. The heat pump manafacturers are Geostar Engineering. They should have downloadable manuals on the site with a troubleshooting section somewhere in the back.

If you have any problems trying to get someone to service the pump, send me a PM and I will point you in the right direction.

    Added.

Longboard - you may be a lifesaver.

One thing... the link you sent doesn't work.
I have a name in my phone/SIM contacts which begins with Dave.
I'll PM you with it. I think it may be the same chap.

Have you made a typo in the URL for his site or do you have his phone number ? PM me

thanks! I owe you one or two !!!

    This was sorted out.

Kudos to Longboard and Dave M. who came promptly this morning to diagnose and fix the fault.

Problem was a soft-start module had blown due to some electrical shorting caused by voltage quality issue after an ESB outage/resumption.

I need to fit a surge protection unit in front of the HeatPump to mitigate this risk for the future.

Good news is the compressor is working eminently well and collectors (dual boreholes) are delivering good heat to the house.
Domestic hotwater could be a bit better and I have to give some consideration to some plumbing changes which could help that in the long run.
