I think why bother with the high class races that are very competitive and unpredictable when there are plenty of other races in which very few horses have a good chance and others are just dead wood. It's much easier to get the winner this way and at the end of the day is just the money that matters...
Of course, I'll be watching this race and admire these horses but I won't have any money on any of them. Someone might get greater high betting on prestige races but for me a decent priced winner in class 6 is as good.

Skybet are still paying 5 places, 1/4 the odds and I know VC were before the withdrawals today. There is a serious opportunity to make money in this race. I'll post my selection tomorrow but i have Nenuphar Collonges Ante post already

denman may not win tomorrow but i am totally behind him!! although my tips may not always be bang on i come from a horse breeding background and denman looks to me as if he is one of the best built gold cup horses to race in a long time. although kauto star has all the success i have always been a deman fan and i cashed in on his win in cheltenham a couple of years ago. he is a big scopy horse with a brilliant jump and is built for races like the gold cup. his injury last year was a major setback and a concern for everyone involved with him but if he is fit and over the injury i think he could once again seriously put it up to kauto star at cheltenham. as for tomorrow running against barber shop and cappa bleu he is up against some serious competition but if he is back to his ususal self i think denman should have no problem beating these. paddy power were offering a 10/1 double on denman and binocular which i think is a great bet as denman is value at 4/1 itself.

I dont know how you can be confident about Denman with all the weight after what his jockey and trainer have been saying the last weeks. It's a leap of faith and your money takes the fall if it goes wrong

as i said there, i dont know if today will be his day so im not going to be backing him heavily but i do think that he is the class horse in the race and one of the best around at the minute full stop

    amazing performance
even if i hadnt backed him id be screaming him on
had him each way at 4s
wasnt sure he'd win but i was
    confident he'd be placed

That was an incredible performance giving lumps of weight to every horse in the field. His jumping today was imperious, it's a joy to watch him power over obstacles in his trademark demolishing style. I think Nicholls has him back to his best - there isn't a horse about that could give away such a mountain of weight and still win convincingly like that. And make no mistake he beat far better calibre of rival today than when he smashed the field 2 years ago.

I don't think I'm wrong in saying that we may never see the likes of Denman and Kauto Star again. Those two are so far ahead of their contemporaries that its astonishing. Their achievements will live long in memory and I believe the pinnacle of the legacy will come to a head in Cheltenham in March. I really do hope Nicholls has both animals primed for another Gold Cup battle and I think this one is going to be the one to relish. Denman's power vs Kauto's finesse. :)

Tremendous performance from Denman today , some of his jumps were spectacular gaining lengths in the air on Barbers Shop ,
What A Friend although well-handicapped and laid out for this race comprehensively beaten for a finish .
Kauto will find him a tough nut to crack in March , all going well .

Denmania is gathering momentum next stop Leopardstown for the Lexus & then all roads lead to Cheltenhem where he will regain his Gold Cup crown at the expense of Kauto.....

Interesting fact without weights, Denman is actually 7 stone heavier than Kauto in their natural horse weights!!!!

That performance today was asthonishing it brought a tear to Paul Nicholls eye anyone who was watching Channel 4.....

Didn't see the race, but had large bet on Denman to win, and small bit to cover on BS. Obv delighted with the win, made the weekend for me.
