MMDS and Digital+

    I am moving from a house with cable (from which I have bb, phone and Digital+) to a house in an area served by MMDS, no cable. I rang UPC to cancel my service and the guy was asking if I'd be interested in continuing to get TV through them. He told me though that the MMDS service there would not support the DVR box, only the standard digital box with no recorder.

    Is this across the board with MMDS i.e. is there no DVR support over MMDS, or is it something specific to certain areas?

    Different transmission systems.
    Ex-NTL MMDS use a system called DVB-C (which the DVR box supports).
    Ex-Chorus MMDS use a system called DVB-T (which the DVR box doesn't support and obviously is the system in use in your new place).
