    Hi Guys,

I recently got a part time job working 3 days a week and getting the other 2 from the welfare via cheque.

Now my employer has asked me to work 4 days next week and given me the 2 weeks off before and after Xmas.

What do I tell write on the weekly slip for the 4 days and for the two whole weeks off?

The arrangement of working part time and receiving JSB/JSA is dependant on you working up to a maximum of three days only in the six-day week. You can't claim anything if you work more than three days.

I would still complete the docket and mark the relevant days with an "O" and drop it into the Dole Office for the hours next week. You won't get paid though.

Are you owed holidays by your employer? If so, you may be able to mark some of the days as Holiday Pay and still "X" the other days.

You may be better off ringing the Dole office to explain the situation, but be prepared to wait a while for the phone to answered and then more time whilst you are placed on hold until the relevant person speaks to you. I have found the SWOs very helpful once I have overcome that hurdle.
