Does anybody know how you go about getting tickets to RWC games? When do they go on sale? How easy are they to get? 2011 will be the first RWC i'll be travelling to so I dont know how easy or difficult it is to get tickets to Ireland games.

No idea, but it might be worth posting this in the Australia New Zealand forum as well.

Some of the people there might have an idea.

tickets go on sale in new year. I would think that they will do it like the last RWC and most people will get packages to follow their team all over the place, and tickets on a per game basis will go on sale later [but thats me guessing]

It will be quite hard tog et tickets for some games as NZ stadia are a bit on the small side [compared to the last comp. in france], and a lot of people [inc me] have been planning to go down to it for quite a while..

You will find camper van rental is already quite difficult - as many are booked up - a good 2 years in advance [for example].

    Hey Guys,
Was looking into this a while ago and apparently the first round of tickets will go on sale in April 2010, there's some information available on the Rugbyworldcup.com site.
I had saved up and had planned out my trip to the previous World Cup in France but, silly exams got in the way. So, I was determined to make this one but, the more I look into it, the more unlikely it is to happen. Especially, taken into account camper vans etc. are already heavily booked up

I reckon it will be very very easy.

I was at the France RWC and had tickets bought in advance. In the end tickets were being given away free for Namibia and Georgia, France I got for face value on the day and Argentin tix wre easily floating around. All given France was only an hour away. I reckon the amount of spare tix appearing amongst travelling parties will be much higher for NZ, due to peoples travel plans falling through.

Italy and US wont have massive crowds attending and the Ozzies current apathy towards the Wallabies would mean a real chance of the Irish having a "home" crowd for that game.

The way tix were released was on line well in advance also so you dont need to rely on scoring when you are there.

dont forget that the kiwi grounds are generally about half the size of the french grounds..so around 20k-40k less people at games!

But how likely is it that the Kiwi public will embrace games between the smaller teams? Or games involving a top team against a small team? Something tells me we wont see 40k at a Georgia Namibia, or Portugal Romania game this time round!

Seeing packed crowds at games between minnows is my fondest memory of 2007 RWC!
