Recycle or re-use?

I have a '97 Clio with 70k miles on it. It's been parked at the front of the house for about 6 weeks while I got my ar*e in gear sorting out a replacement vehicle registration certificate (which I need if I want to scrap or transfer ownership).

Problem now is the the battery is dead as a dodo. Tried jump starting it this morning but no joy. My conundrum is that I can get it recycled for free - if I can get it to the recycling centre - but it would cost me €100+ to get it towed there.

All that hassle made me stop and think - should I be trying so hard to get it to the recycling centre - or is there likely to be someone out there in need of a '97 Clio with a dead battery (apart from that it's in good condition).

    What do you reckon?

    Don't recycle it! Sell it.

Unless there's something wrong with it then 70k isn't much. There's cars on the road that drive as good as they ever have with 2/3x that mileage!

Offer it for free to be taken away. It'll be gone in days...

Defo sell it.. breaking it is good too if you have the time to take it apart bit by bit and a place to store it..

Personally Id stick it up on adverts, donedeal, gumtree or wherever as a whole for €250 or whatever and get a few quid for xmas.. :)

Photos below. I'm going to take the advise of the forum and see if I can get a few quid for it. Would certainly help with the Xmas shopping :D

It is a clean Clio with low miles that hasn't been through the wars. You will have no problem selling it. Stick it up on donedeal and a couple of other sites too.

no tax and no nct will put off a lot of buyers
you should get the car road legal if you want a quick sale or drop the price

Dead battery (will need to be jumped or towed)

    That's dishonest.

Plus a bit pointless too I reckon as I'm sure anyone interested in the car will want to see it running first before they buy whether they drive/trailer or tow it away after.
