It was mentioned here by foxylady I believe for Eur 549.00 and I'm interested in this. but don't know where this offer was.........???

Or is there better than this for the same money??

The most important thing for me is speed - especially when starting up and wanting to load pictures.
    Thanks everyone!!

I really prefer a bricks n mortar shop that I can see what im buying first if anyone can suggest anything............

I suspect that like the majority of non-professional PC users [no offence intended...] you will probably use less than 10% of your computers processing power, if for example you just do:

    a bit of general browsing
    some email
    some facebook
    some youtube
    a bit of music/film sharing
creating the odd document in word
    uploading digital camera pics
    etc

    I have a laptop thats probably > 5 years old, 1GHz processor,512MB RAM
I do most of the above, but am also running a distributed protein-research program that is allowed to use 90% of the CPU

It cost me about 80 STG a couple of months ago [eBay], and I only bought it because the identical one I had previously had issues with its sound card and the screen wouldnt stay up by itself. Its still working though

For starting up speed, I find Hibernation is much quicker than regular shutdown/startup

    hi there,

I think I got that quote from www.laptopsdirect.ie

I have scanned through some posts on here that complain about them though. So be careful!

Can't decide which laptop to buy!
Also, I agree with the previous poster... I will only use laptop for basic computer work but I still can't decide which one to get!

    Happy shopping!
