Schuh E-bay issue - advice sought

Long time reader-first time poster - yesterday using two separate e-bay accounts I purchased five items from Schuh store on e-bay(two accounts used as one is a UK account and some items could only be delivered to UK). Today received an e-mail to both accounts stating ' We encountered some system problems with our auction items that were listed as ending between 7:30pm and 9:30pm last night on schuhstore eBay. Our automated system listed items that we no longer had in stock.

We're sorry, your order was among those affected and we do not have the stock to send to you.
    Please accept our sincerest apologies.

They go on to offer a 10% discount on purchases on the site until December 10th.

Just wondering if I have any comeback with them as find it hard to believe that all five items were unavailable due to system problems. Really annoyed too as one item was a gift which I purchased for nearly 50GBP lower than store price.

Same happened to me - bought 3 items and all were out of stock. The worst part is that these were all listed for a number of days, and it was only after payment that this error transpired.

Beyond giving negative feedback (which I most definitely will) - I can't see what else can be done about this, and yes the 20% off ebay schuh until 10th December and the other 10% voucher are pretty crap.

    D.

Hi the same thing happened to me and my sister-in-law whilst purchasing completely different items.

I was watching a number of different items for days and bid on these near to the end and eventually won a pair of Ugg boots at a very good price. I was waiting for other listing to end so i could pay for them all together

My sister-in-law rang to say that she had recieved an email to say that the 3 items she had won and paid for were ALL not in stock and that she would be refunded and compensated.

I was really disappointed to have recieved the same email with a 10% off next purchace as a gesture, when the item i had won was a lot less than the retail price, 10% just isnt enough.

I have been a regular customer to Schuh on ebay purchasing around 20 items in the past few months for myself and family but i just dont understand how so many listings can be out of stock.

Im now wondering if the items were in stock but they just didnt want them being sold for the price that they were won at.......

Were these Buy it now, or bid auctions? If bid auctions, it seems likely that they didn't want to sell at low prices.

You could use eBay's complaints procedure, but that's fairly crap, gets ignored, and forces your complaint into a few limited subjects, that probably won't be what you want.

Leave negative feedback on all canceled orders. eBay's rules do state that you're not allowed to have auctions for items you don't have available for sale.
