    HOMELIGHTS THE TOUR - 2009

    Adrian Crowley
    James Yorkston
    Alasdair Roberts

Further to the announcement of the HOMELIGHTS 2009 festival featuring Adrian
Crowley and a stellar cast of friends and influences comes HOMELIGHTS THE
TOUR taking in shows in Belfast, Galway, Cork and Kilkenny.

For these shows Adrian Crowley will be joined by acclaimed singer songwriter
James Yorkston who was an integral early member of Fife’s Fence Collective
and is currently recording for Domino Records. Yorkston released his fifth
studio album in 2008, When The Haar Rolls In. The album featured guest
appearances from English folk legends Norma and Mike Waterson and was
accompanied by a remix cd and a cover versions disc, the latter of which
featured artists such as Adrian Crowley & Cathal Coughlan covering his
songs. Yorkston followed that this year with Folk Songs, a self explanatory
collection learned from cassettes and cds by Anne Briggs, Shirley Collins,
    Jean Ritchie and Nic Jones.

“Yorkston has reached a state of grace that writers can spend for ever
trying to attain: songs that sound not so much written as carefully
retrieved from your own subconscious, played with an intuition bordering on
telepathy. What more could you ask for?” – Pete Paphides, The Times.

Joining Crowley and Yorkston is another acclaimed Scottish songwriter
Alasdair Roberts, who has released three albums as Appendix Out for the Drag
City label and five Alasdair Roberts albums for labels such as Secretly
Canadian, Rough Trade and Drag City, including his 2009 LP Spoils. He has
also recorded with label-mates Will Oldham and Jason Molina as the
    Amalgamated Sons of Rest.

Adrian Crowley is one of Ireland’s most essential young songwriters and
recording artists. His fifth album Season of the Sparks was released on
    Chemikal Underground on November 9th.

"Crowley has come of age, he has moved up several levels in one bound.. from
apprentice to grandmaster." - Jim Carroll (The Irish Times) May 2009.

"Crowley's most consistently beautiful album yet" **** (4 stars) The Irish
    Times

"The current Adrian Crowley record should get 8 out of 5.Unfortunatley I'm
not allowed to do this so 5 it is" - ***** (5 stars) Hot Press

" Unspeakably beautiful"- **** (4 stars) RTE Guide

"A true magical mystery tour" **** (4 stars)- Q magazine

    "Timeless.."- UNCUT
