Cluthching at straws here but Pele just said the Ireland result was unfair. Hopefully coming from someone of his stature in the game it will add more pressure on Fifa to do something at their emergency meeting next week. (when I say "do" I mean introduce a new system of some sort not a replay)

Peles opinion on football is about as valid as Jedwards tbh.

Why you even mention them? Pele is an incredible ambassador for the game and has been since his days as the greatest player who ever lived.

Poor effort at a thanks post.

Same for you mike, for shame.

I mentioned them because I hold no interest in their opinion on the Ireland - France game (which was on the RTE website). Same with Pele. Its well known that while he was a great footballer, he spends most of his time these days talking utter sh*te because he's a bitter old man and is no longer a great ambassador, but hey, lets not let that distract you from doing what you do best.

Its allways the same bull on this site... the second post on every opening topic is an attempt to get an allmighty amount of thanks! sad.

Of course Pele's opinion is taken on board by the entire world of football.
But then again, it doesnt take Pele to see it was an unfair result. Stevie Wonder would have saw that.

Is this the same Pele who put Diouf in his top 100 players of all time??

He's becoming a bit of a joke at this stage. All he does is go country to country and saying exactly what people want to hear. He'll be in England saying they're the favourites to win the world cup and then Germany the next day saying the same thing. He's a soundbite machine

Really? So one of the best players of all time isn't entitled to his opinion? I know it probably won't mean anything in a practical sense, but he's entitled to air his view like anyone else. I'd respect him ahead of Platini or that clown Blatter any day.

Like the previous poster said, he says whatever people want to hear. He's covered all angles in this story - he's defended France and Henry, he's said there shouldn't be a reply, he says Ireland were cheated out of it. Remember, this is the same man who is so bitter about players being compared to him that he completely fabricated stories of witnessing Ronaldo and Robinho doing drugs at a busienss party, and when threatened with a lawsuit, retracted it straight away. He's a clown.

    This.

He's a legend and all that but like most former pro's is kinda clueless. His opinion will count for nothing.

I heard Platini was quite decent at football once upon a time aswell  Doesent make him anyless of a clown now, so whats different about Pele??

If you genuinely believe that solely from a football point of view may I suggest badminton or the like

However as an administrator/politican I would agree.

But as has been pointed out already Pele has hardly proven to be the sharpest tool in the box, Maradonna is hardly a role model, Georgie Best ............you get the picture

Not sure it will make much of a difference.
