Hey guys I was in a hotel gym from jan this year to july, while i did lose weight and gain a bit of muscle I felt my diet let me down. Also the gym only had only free weights to 20kg no squat rack etc.

I am now joining a gym that has a very good weight selection and benches so im hoping to go all out and gain alot of muscle and bulk. The main problem for me is I don't like tuna or eggs or nuts:rolleyes:

Here whats my diet will be like

9am porridge and 2 slices of hoves granary toast.

    11am gym, banana after gym

1pm, dinner, meat spud 2 veg

    3pm orange

    6pm cold chicken breast

    9pm rice yogurt.

Any tips on what to eat would be great.

I will be going to the gym 5days a week with Monday, Wednesday,Friday weight days and Tuesday and Thursday cardio. The gym will make me a routine but this are normally not great so what type of work outs should I be doing.

    Im 76kg and 5ft 7

Any help I will be really greatfull for it.

I don't like it. Wa wa wa! Grow up, build a bridge, get over it.

You're telling me you don't like eggs - fried, scrambled, poached, boiled or in omelettes? No tuna? I agree brine is a bit rank but what about in sunflower oil? Try John West tuna steak, avoid the cheaper ones. Don't like nuts, are you nuts? What about almonds, cashews, peanuts, hazelnuts, pecans, macadamia, walnuts, pistachios? I mean come on, you just dismiss them all??

Ok. You definitely need more protein in your diet so try this list of protein sources from Tom Venuto. Tell me you like fish or milk!!

    Proteins

    A+ Grade

    Salmon
    Rainbow Trout
    Herring

    A Grade

    Chicken breast
    Turkey breast
    Fish
    Shellfish
    Egg Whites
    Non-fat cottage cheese
    Whey protein

    B Grade

    Lean red meat
    Low fat sliced chicken/turkey
    Non fat sour cream
    Non fat cheese
    1% low fat cottage cheese

    C Grade

    Sliced low fat ham
    Low fat sausage
    Chicken/Turkey non-breast meat
    Low fat (2%) cheese

    D grade

    Regular mince
Moderate fat cuts of red meat
    Roast beef

    F Grade

    Ham
    Hot dogs
    Beef jerky
    Salami/Chorizo etc
    Sausages
    Bacon

As for training, google starting strength or similar. Make sure you do plenty of big compound lifts like squats and deadlifts.

By the way, if you really do want to 'go all out and bulk' - you need to be eating a lot more. Take a look at the nutrition sticky, workout your maintainance calorie needs and consume at least 20% more on top.

I agreed with you until I seen Jerky grouped with hot dogs and sauages.

Why don't you rare jerky, imo it is one of the better sources out there. Turkey, and game jerky more so.

It is highly processed, usually made from formed meat rather than whole cuts, higher in salt and cholesterol and it contains chemical preservatives and flavourings.

I'm a fussy eater too. Can't physically swallow some things. Best thing I find is milk, loads of milk - nothing easier in my opinion. I also love eggs and eat salted / dry roasted nuts. I know theres loads of salt etc. etc. but that doesn't bother me.

Throw in 2 - 3 litres at least of milk on top of that diet and you should grow well. Only problem I find is that I drink that much milk at the moment i'm not eating enough food

This post has at least 4 things totally wrong. Not bad for one sentance.
Sounds like you are confusing jerky with those pepperami type snacks.

Proper Jerky is not highly processed, made from whole cuts, has no chemical preservatives added, no flavour added (maybe pepper or chilli, hardly a bad thing) and no salt added,.

I'm not going to discuss the definition of the word jerky with you, suffice to say that it depends where you get your 'proper' jerky from.

Consult the source of all knowledge tbh - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerky_%28food%29

I believe that is the type of jerky that is being placed in category F.

However, if you love your jerky so much, go ahead, knock yourself right out. I really don't care.

If love fish but was never mad about tuna. The only way i can eat it now is in a tuna bake. Boil some whole grain pasta, mix the tuna with some light mayo, add a bit of pepper. Put the pasta and tuna into a oven dish. Put some cottage cheese on top or some grated light cheese. Then stick in the oven for a while. I cold eat this all day but i just can't eat tuna straight from the tin.

Also most people who don't like eggs don't like them because of the yolk. You could make an omelette or scrambled eggs with just one egg yolk and make up the rest with egg whites. That's what i normally do since the protein is in the white of the egg.

tbh, It hardly bothers me what you tink. I was just pointing out a mistake in you post that might of been benefit to the OP. You appear be a bit of a whinger, that attitude is hardly helpful on a forum. But, you're new you either catch on or leave/banned.

Also, it you are going to use wiki (or anywhere) as a source. Make sure you read it properly. The link clearly said products sold as jerky, ie not actually jerky. When used as a source of protein, common sense would make sure you buy a decent brand, without artifical flavours, or sticky sauces etc. Smoked over sait if that an issue. I don't have a pack on me, but I think one I but is about 65g protein per 100g
And the only thing added other than meat is pepper or chilli seeds.

Yeah and I clearly said I think that the foodstuff in the link was what was being described as a category F protein.

And here's another nutritional info chart for the type of beef jerky that would be category F.

So I've provided a couple of sources for the type of jerky that would be category F - would you like to provide a link for the jerky with 65g protein per 100g?

Also, if I didn't find it so laughable that you seem to equate a user's join date and post count with some kind of status I would probably bite and trade insults. Your reply is hardly becoming of someone who is supposed to be a mod. In fact, it reminds me of a sketch by Bill Hicks
... like Jack Palance in the movie Shane... Throwing the pistol at the sheep herder's feet:
    "Pick it up."
"I don't wanna pick it up mister, you'll shoot me."
    "Pick up the gun".
"Mister, I don't want no trouble huh. I just came down town here to get some hard rock candy for my kids, some gingham for my wife. I don't even know what gingham is, but she goes through about 10 rolls a week of that stuff. I ain't looking for no trouble mister."
    "Pick up the gun."
    Boom bom
"You all saw him. He had a gun."
