At marlin_vs's request, a poll for those of us who've handed in a firearm rather than relicence it under the new system. Which would be an interesting bit of data...

I ticked single shot rimfire rifle, namely .22lr. It's not mine, but my Dad will be handing in his because he doesn't use it.

Oops, should have also ticked None as I re-licensed mine.

I ticked semi auto shotgun, as already have a beretta over and under which is sufficient for my requirements, but licenced an extra rifle this year as well so the number of my permits remains at four...I just wanted to go forward with 3 rifles and one shotgun which better suits my needs.

Thanks Sparks, I handed in a single barell shotgun as I had 4 gun's and wasn't prepared to pay for an alarm system.

My Dad is saying that he intends to hand in his o/u cos he never ventures out anymore.

I don't intend on parting with anything if at all possible.

You've only one vote, so if you vote for him you can't vote for yourself.

Don't know if anyone wants other numbers but the 30 lads in my gun club plus 5 other lads i shoot with ( target and hunting) intend to keep and relicense their firearms. One lad is the exception. He is selling, surrendering his .22 hornett. Bought it 2-3 years ago and fired about 20 rounds. Maintains he is not a "rifle man".

I handed in my old baikal 20 guage single barrel cos i never use and only had a subsequent licence at 6 euro a year but because the 6 euro licence is gone i could not justify the 80 for a gun i have only used a few times.
also the land on which i used it on is now built up and not safe for shooting any more.

I'm sure your old 20g will be counted among the many firearms 'taken off the streets' when Justice announce their little victory after this is all done.
