Mobile gmail?

Hey, I can't seem to access gmail via safari for some reason, on my iPod touch 2g with 3rd gen OS. I've tried to load the page but it just remains blank. I am able to access my mail no problem with the Mail app, but that lacks features such as search. Any idea how to fix this? Thanks

I find if I try to use ICS through mobile broadband then I cannot get access, but using a normal wifi connection is fine. Certain ports are blocked by firewalls either at the router or on the OS of your PC
