Shortcut to other channel on new SkyHD epg

    If you have tuned ITVHD ,BBCHD and others into your other channels , on the new epg you might find the following useful.

    To watch press Services or Interactive button, Press 9 twice, press 5, press select ,then select the channel you want to watch.

    In short, press

    Services or Interactive, 995 select and select channel.

    And if you are using a Logitech Harmony remote, you can program a button to do all this on one press.

    services,9,5 select. also works.

    with a harmony you can only program 5 steps so will only get as far as the other channel list.
    or the first one listed BBCHD in my case.

    wiat wait wait wait wait. you can get bbchd and itvhd on a sky hd sub? damn i am slipping up big time. anyone linky to how this is done?

    also, what is the rollout for the new epg? Im in dublin 15 and still aint got it :/ the current interface is useless - I've seen the adds and the new hd one looks decent :)

    you have to tune them in manually, into other channels.

    ergo you can't actually record them with Sky+. You'll have to use some other means like a DVD recorder, or one of those fancy HD capture card/devices. :cool:

    Same here in deepest Mayo. I have an Amstrad box, but am still waiting for the new EPG. Can't tune in ITV HD on the old guide. Anyone got any idea when Sky might roll out the new guide to Amstrad boxes?

    Cheers for that. So, if I'm reading that correcly, all Samsung boxes should have had the new EPG by mid-November. Then Sky were to move on to the Amstrad boxes. Therefore, hopefully in the next 2 or 3 weeks, we should have the new EPG on our Amstrad box.

    yep.

    from what i have read, there was a problem implementing the software on the Amstrad box.


    (I even mailed logitech and they said they couldn't do anything :( )

    I just rang Sky about it, and the lady on the end of the line said that they hoped to have the remaining boxes enabled in "about a month". I was hoping they'd have it done in time for Christmas, just in case ITV decide to put something half decent on in HD.
