I agree that Spike should win inside the distance but i think with Healys experience and Spikes inexperience i think it might go a little longer
after all Jamie Moore took 3rds and Andy Lee took him 4rds but didnt stop him healy quit i also watched healys last fight in Belfast and thought he won, But he is game and it should be exciting for as long as it lasts

if spike gos to the body it could be all over early

healy dosent like it to the body thats how , lee , moore , hall and degale all stopped him

DeGale could of had it over within a minute!

I agree about Degale but he is a supermiddleweight and Healy took that fight at 5 days notice this fight with OSullivan has been in the pipeline for the last 7 weeks so healy has some time to prepare.I do agree he doesnt have the stomach for body shots and i believe Spike throws great body shots lets hope it is an early night for the Corkman
looking forward to seeing Eddie Hyland he is in Against a tough southpaw with 13 wins 14 losses but never stopped and fights at lightwelter could be dangerous also Ian timms and Michael Sweeney

Would you need to buy a ticket or can you pay at the door?
Any idea of the ticket prices aswell?

always best to buy a ticket. It helps the promoter and guarentees that you will make the effort.

Local fighters should be supported by local guys like yourself! get your mates to go along.

CCP, is there a bar at the venue?

    Tickets are €30 €50 and €75 ringside
i dont think they allow a bar at Neptune but it is located next to a number of Pubs.

promoters gotta start realising that not everyone are boxing geeks like us and wont go unless there is a bar.

It's hard enough trying to get yer mates to get interested in boxing and shelling out for tickets but they still expect it to be a night out and without a bar it hard to get them to the venue or to get them to come back.

    Couldn't agree more!

But I suppose it all comes down to getting the licence to sell drink and limiting costs but in the long run wont atract as many fan's!

I'm never going to have a pop at anyone putting on a show - I support every show and urge people to attend. Promoters are limited in terms of venues and of course money and its a fine balance.

But we are the boxing geeks and whilst boxing is still a fringe sport we have to realise and recognise that we are competing with the likes of staying in and watching the X-Factor, going down the pub and watching football, going for a meal with the missus as well as other sports.

Make it easy for prospective punters to want to go!

tickets are available in maher sports on oliver plunket st or from nancy spains pub on barrack st. The shop across from the graveyard in mahon has them as well. I payed at the door the last time I was in Neptune though so you would probably be grand if you didnt get the chance to buy tickets beforehand.

Yeah I though spike was good, big power in those hooks to the body. He is definetly a good prospect for the future. Glad to see him have to go the full distance with somebody as well.
Does anyone know what was the story with Nancy spains having to step in last minute to sponsor?
