Hi all. Was wondering is this a good venture to get involved in? I'm assuming whilst people will always have recyclables that it has potential. its an ethically sound business too. i like the idea of collecting recyclables whilst driving an electric powered vehicle but like everything this day and age it is something i would think long and hard about before any sort of commitment.
has anybody any info on this company or advice? i would welcome people from donegal's opinions in particular as to how they find it as a service or what they know about it.

Don't have alot of information but I have just recently started getting my household waste collected at the very impressive rate of 2.50 per week, I would admit I was quite lazy about the whole recycling thing but this makes it easy to do it, I have a composter for leftover food ashes etc - i think its great and everyone i spoke is happy with it - we were being totally ripped off before so this is positive in the middle of a recession!

How can anyone earn minimum wage doing pickups in a rural area at 2.50 each? Presumably you then need to pick through the stuff and sort it as well.

I would be very concerned about the cost of renewing the batteries in any electric vehicle.

i'm not sure i will ask the driver the next time as he bought the franchise himself. he mentioned that it works out about 250 a year for charging the vehicle - the vehicle makes no noise at all as well he is here and gone before i know it - i assume its more suitable for towns although i live half a mile outside on a main road. someone collects the waste from him he doesn't do anything with it. everything i use can be recycled now compared to before where the bin guy would only accept specific items that was a pain. busy green bee were on nationwide as well last year

The problem is that the batteries in electric vehicles need to be replaced (well, taken back by the factory for renovation). If you are doing big mileage and recharging it a lot, this would have to be done frequently enough.

It must cost him something to get the waste picked up.

To be honest i'm not really interested in the technicalities of electric powered vehicles, the batteries don't affect me and I never heard the driver complain he has always arrived on scheduled time. I think its great, my bank balance likes it, it makes me feel great to be kinder to the environment and I admire the idea behind it all. I also believe that we have been paying too much money to have our waste dumped in landfills for years and years and no one (the government) has done anything about it.

I paid into this franchaise in August 2009 after being told I would have the delivery of my electric recycling vehicle in 9 to 12 weeks. Since my recycling route was still not operational by March 2010 and they gave me an option of a diesel truck instead of an electrical vehicle I had to demand a refund of my money.

Is there anyone else out there who has paid into a franchise with BusyGreenBee,Textonegroup and is still waiting to start their route. I would be interested to hear their story
