    Hi just looking into gettin sky installed in my house at the moment on South Circular Road, Dublin 8. Its a listed building so no dish can go at the front of the house. Just wondering if this would be a major issue. anyone had the same problem??

    What part of the house is facing South East? If it's the back you'll get away with it.

    I think you might be ok. The engineer will check for a signal from the back of the house and possibly use a bracket. If he can not pick one up you will not be charged. If you have paid Sky already with a credit card they will refund you in full.

    now the next issue if the house is above 10m high it says teres an extra charge is this true does anybody know netin about tis??

    would you go up a ladder thats longer than 10M ? :)

    The dish will work at any height, but Afaik they generally put it above 3M.

    That would be classed as outside a standard install and you more than likely will be charged extra for it. If you own the grounds at the back of the house, they might give you the option of putting it on a back garden wall or somewhere tidy and discreet on a pole and bracket once it's within scope to pick up a signal.

    It's impossible for anyone to price it without seeing the job Mickey. The engineer will go through all possibilities with you when he goes out.
