PS3 works fine on Philips HD Ready but not on old Sanyo AV

Bought a PS3 a while ago and its always worked fine on the Philips HD tv, which I have connected through a scart connection. But when I try to connect it to my old little Sanyo tv, again through the same scart connection, it doesn't work - the AV just stays as a blank black screen.

I know the AV on the Sanyo works because I can play dvds fine on it through a Sony dvd player, also connected through the scart.

    Any ideas?

If you hold in the on button for 10-15 seconds i think it resets the PS3 and it should pick the correct TV output type. It might be something simple in the settings.

will that reset anything else though? I dont wanna be wiping my whole system clear of my users, saved games etc!

And if that works, will I have to do this again then if I wanna go play it on the newer Philips tv again? Or from once I do it once, will it automatically pick up all tv output types?

No it wont wipe anything its just some settings tv output sound etc. You may have to do it again when you move it back but i cant think of any reason why its not working since you are using the same scart output. Might be the refresh rate but thats just a guess.
