There were 5 laid off in Deloitte in belfast who all failed at least 1 of the CAP 2 module repeats.

25 laid off in KPMG the majority out of their FS department. Failing an exam and losing a job. Pretty tough double whammy.

I believe PWC laid off anyone failing CAP1's and CAP2's (repeat exams) even if they could still repeat the year and get qualified within there training contract, theres supposed to be around 50 let go (all rumours of course).

I heard KPMG are being a bit more lenient i.e. if you failed repeats but can still get qualified within the training contract you are ok, if you can't your probably gone.

Its harsh but if you are struggling with the exams (especially CAP1) you are going to struggle with the work the further on you get into the training contract. This coupled with the economic downturn is probably the main reason for the lay-offs.
