Working one day a week on JSB

I've been lucky to get one day's work a week for the forseeable future in something related to what I studied in. The pay is a basic rate but will probably net me 60-70€. I am already receiving €132/week on JSB (as I live at home). Am I right in assuming the 60-70€ will be deducted from the 132 or is there another manner in which they calculate it? I'm just happy to have some sort of work even if it is only one day a week, but I would like to know how much money I'll have. Thanks (also I do plan to go into social welfare once my hours and contract are sent out).

edit: can I also ask given that I'll be working one day a week, will this help extend my JSB which is due to expire in April to a later date? I hope of course to get my foot in the door so to speak and get something permanent but handy to know re JSB. Thanks!

    Hi tommy21

For each day you are unemployed, one-sixth of the normal rate of Jobseeker's Benefit is payable, provided that you are unemployed for at least 3 days out of a period of 6 consecutive days.

For example, if you get work for 1 day, you can get five-sixths of the normal Jobseeker's Benefit for that week.

On your second question, your JB will expire at a later date.

sorry i find this a little hard to get my head around (iv had a long day lol).... but put in simple terms, every day that i work 22 euro is taken from my full allowance (can only work up to 3 days per week to be entitled to allowance). i think they roughly take 20 euro a day away from the allowance for every day you work but it varies according to how much you usually earn in work per day.... hope this helps :)
